FoxFury HammerHead and Command Series Aternate Light Sources (ALS) can be combined with goggles and a case to form a a Forensic Kit. A Forensic Kit consists of one white light, 3 Alternate Light Sources (ALS), 3 Goggles and a Case.

We allow the customer to select the most appropriate wavelengths and goggles given their specific needs. There is also the option to add 4 Scout Series lights (to help see and be seen) to any Forensic Kit.

Wavelength and Goggles Combinations to Visualize Forensic Evidence: Due to the nature of Forensic evidence, it is best to utilize combinations of Wavelengths and Goggles in order to detect evidence. This is due to variations in the chemical and physical properties of the background and evidence itself. Forensic Examinations tend to be subjective as experts may utilize different wavelengths or goggle preferences. The list below indicates the most common use of Goggles combined with specific wavelengths.

Notes and Considerations:

There can be differences in wavelengths and goggles used due to the various chemical and physical properties of evidence as well as the background/surrounding that the evidence is on.

For that reason, we suggest a primary and secondary wavelength. In the chart, we recommend using the goggle on the left first followed by the goggle to the right. In some cases, no goggles (general scene illumination) or a Camera with IR capability (to be used with Infrared light) is needed. In all other cases, goggles (a filter) and a darkened environment must be used in order to visualize forensic evidence.

In order to visualize Forensic evidence, goggles and wavelengths need to be used in different combinations. For example, Latent Prints should first be examined using a 495 nm light source with orange goggles. If no evidence is visible, it is recommended that you look again but with yellow goggles. If no evidence is visible, switch to a 525 nm light source and use yellow goggles. If no evidence is visible, look again using the red goggles.

Forensic Examinations tend to be subjective as experts may utilize different wavelengths or goggle preferences. The chart below is merely a tool to help guide Forensic searches. In some cases, a tertiary wavelength or goggle type must be used in order to see traces of evidence. It is up to the Forensic Examiner to utilize the tools and methods they feel are the most appropriate.
